Dunn County, WI -- Timothy D. McClellan, 40, of Wheeler is being held at the Dunn County Jail in Menomonie, Wisconsin, on multiple charges:
Three counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Persistent Repeater
Attempted 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child, Persistent Repeater
Invade Privacy - View/Broadcast/Record Individual's Genitals, etc.
Failure to maintain sex offender registration
Using a different name other than what he is registered under, which is prohibited for sex offenders under WI Statute 301.47(2)(b).
According to court records, these offenses allegedly occurred between July and October of 2025.
McClellan is listed in court records as having lived in Wheeler at the time of his arrest, but the National Sex Offender Registry shows he was not compliant with reporting his address. He was required to maintain lifetime registration after a conviction for First-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child in Winnebago County in 2005.
He has a history of not staying compliant with his sex offender registration, a charge he was convicted for in 2011 in Polk County.
McClellan entered a plea of not guilty for the current charges in Dunn County. He is being held on a $150,000.00 cash bond, ordered to not have contact with anyone under 18, and cannot use the internet.
In December 2025, WEAU reported that McClellan is also facing charges of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography in federal court.
His next court appearance in Dunn County is scheduled for March 30, 2026.
Individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
